Seattle is a baby-city, in terms of size/density/age, I get that. So what should I expect when I travel to places like Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, etc? It seems difficult to even attempt to understand how massive these places are. Any advice when travelling to them?

I have lived in Seoul and Tokyo. They are big cities, but considerably safer than Seattle. You can walk around at 3am with no problem. The public transportation systems may seem overwhelming at first, but they are some of the best in the world and soon you'll be getting around the city with ease. They also have English signage! There are all kinds of things to do and you definitely won't be able to cover everything in one trip, but it makes it much easier if you plan your outings around a specific neighborhood/destination. Also be sure to give yourself enough time to get to destinations, especially during rush hour. Get used to seeing and being around a lot of people most of the time. However, even though these are large cities, you can still find peace in places like parks, cafes, and shrines. Get out and explore!
